‘Chasing the Sun’ with THE WANTED

THE WANTED charmers Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes are back to make fan girls swoon over the globe again. The British-Irish boy band who brought us mind-blowing singles like “All Time Low”, “Glad You Came” and “Gold Forever” presents us with their latest offering --- a self-titled Special Edition EP called The Wanted. The album comprises material from The Wanted's two studio albums, The Wanted (2010) and Battleground (2011), plus the new songs “Satellite” and "Chasing the Sun". The latter is set to be the theme song for this year’s Ice Age 4: Continental Drift. No other song in the world could have been more apt this rainy season than this hot new single. How could you go wrong with lyrics like ‘When the daylight’s fading, we’re gonna play in the dark till it’s golden again’? --- definitely an awesome tune to break the drizzly weather in Manila.

The Wanted Special Edition EP features ten tracks; all of it is world-class contemporary pop music. The three singles we know already: No. 1 Digital Single “All Time Low”, electro rave thriller “Gold Forever” and the monster Europop summertime No.1, “Glad You Came”. From the exhilarating electro-pop of “Invincible” to the tormented strings of “Warzone” and the throbbing electronics of “Mad Man”, “Chasing the Sun” and “Lose My Mind”, the album twists unexpectedly between both the epic and atmospheric through the soulfully acoustic tune of “Heart Vacancy” and the sheer euphoria of their own brand of future-pop, best summed up in the single “Lightning”.

The Wanted have already achieved four Top Five singles and two Number Ones, been viewed a staggering 30 million times on YouTube and sold over 400,000 copies of their debut album upon its release last October. Watch out as their sensational ditties and undoubtedly good looks will soon rock fan girls over the Philippines.

THE WANTED SPECIAL EDITION EP is out now in CDs exclusively under MCA Music available at Astroplus and Odyssey Music & Video or online via www.MyMusicStore.com.ph

The Horrifying Truth, I Am Giant

THE HORRIFYING TRUTH

THIS AUGUST I AM GIANT RELEASE THEIR HOTLY ANTICIPATED DEBUT ALBUM THE HORRIFYING TRUTH VIA SONY MUSIC

On The Horrifying Truth, I Am Giant have bound together what they describe as “a collection of stories, thoughts, observations and exploration” into one cohesive and hard-hitting explosion of sound and melody. From first song ‘Purple Heart’ to closer ‘After The War’, the sharp lyrical themes draw the listener into the band’s own experience of a growing awareness of mortality and the slow loss of innocence.
And yet, I Am Giant have produced an album fuelled by a youthful idealism, not despite but because of the hard learned lessons that are a reality of modern life. The Horrifying Truth is pure, unadulterated rock, with its heart on its sleeve and an unquenchable fire in its soul.

The London-based quartet is comprised of English vocalist Ed Martin, sticks-man Shelton Woolright (formerly of multi-platinum selling band Blindspott), bassist Paul Matthews (formerly of Auckland outfits Stylus and Tadpole) and veteran guitar-slinger Aja Timu, the last to join the IAG line-up.

‘And We’ll Defy’ is the first single from I Am Giant’s much anticipated debut. Bassist Paul Matthews explains “‘And We'll Defy’ is a song about the human need to believe in and belong to something that can define and guide us and about how vulnerable and easily led we can become as a consequence.”
The album also includes all three of I Am Giant’s hit singles from their 2010 City Limits EP – ‘City Limits’, ‘Neon Sunrise’ and ‘Living The Crash’ – all of which hit the top two spots on The Rock FM’s national airplay charts, and have had combined sales in excess of 15,000, not to mention videos featuring world surfing champion Kelly Slater, champion skater Tony Hawke and some of the world’s best extreme athletes.

The Horrifying Truth was recorded with acclaimed Australian alt rock producer/engineer Forrester Savell between Sony Studios in Sydney, and Forrester’s studio at Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne between January and April 2011, and was co-produced by bassist Paul Matthews and drummer Shelton Woolright.

Live the band are a force to be reckoned with, as countless audiences around the world can attest. From headlining sold-out NZ tours, Big Day Out Auckland and Sydney, and Homegrown, to Tiger Translate parties in Vietnam, Camden Barfly, Levi’s Hong Kong, Quiksilver World Pro Bali, Big Night In Singapore, Viper Room LA, Mercury Lounge New York, British Surf Champs and supporting Taking Back Sunday in the UK, I Am Giant have cut their teeth and tested their mettle on some of the world’s hottest stages.

This June and July, I AM GIANT is scheduled for Australian and Asian tour.  Their Asian tour includes the Philippines, which is set on July 9 to be held in Hard Rock Café (Makati City).

Draw the curtains, light a candle and take a listen." Perez Hilton exclaims “LOVE IT!! This song is a trance-y, smooth HIT!!  USA Today describes “Climax” as “Usher’s pulsing new single showcasing his silky-strong tenor” and Entertainment Weekly highlights Usher’s “steaming-hot falsetto.

DDB Shanghai launches Lipton China's “Golden Ratio” campaign

Shanghai: In the last two years, DDB Shanghai has been on a mission to help build Lipton as the world’s tea expert. The recent “Golden Ratio” campaign marks another milestone in the journey, this time by demonstrating the product story in a simple and fascinating way. The objective of the campaign is to continue to leverage Lipton’s tea credential to build its milk tea business in order to differentiate in the me-too category. The key is how to present the product story in an unique and impressive way that’s never-before-seen by the consumers.

The campaign features Takeshi Kaneshiro, Lipton’s ambassador for the last two years. When he drinks Lipton’s milk tea, something magical starts to happen. Not only is he being transformed, the demonstration of the product ingredients is cleverly and beautifully weaved into the story. The end result is a simple and yet delightful ad.

“The entire ad is beautiful. In our business, authenticity and deliciousness are critical. DDB has done a superb job in raising the bar. Have you ever seen product demonstration this perfect?”, said Jane Huang, Director of Lipton BD China.

“This ad is a labor of love. In a 15-second ad, every frame is precious and, therefore, carefully designed. We wanted to have the most delicious product shot so we knew we wanted to shoot real tea and milk liquid.  This entailed prop-building and countless testing, “ said Michael Dee, Chief Creative Officer of DDB China.
